समेता विबुधा भग्नास्तरसा समरे मया | पर्वताश्चासकृत् क्षिप्ता: सवना: सवनौकस:
sametā vibudhā bhagnās tarasā samare mayā | parvatāś cāsakṛt kṣiptāḥ savanāḥ savanaukasaḥ ||
Bhishma disse: “No ímpeto da batalha, eu esmaguei os deuses reunidos, e eles fugiram todos em conjunto. Repetidas vezes arremessei montanhas—com suas florestas e os seres que nelas habitavam—contra vós. Cheguei a fender muitas montanhas sobre vossas cabeças, com suas rochas duras e picos altíssimos. Mas que posso eu fazer agora? Pois transpor o decreto do Tempo é dificílimo.”
