यदेवमनुजातस्य धातारो विदधु: पुरा । तदेवानुचरिष्यामि किं मे मृत्यु: करिष्यति
yad evam anujātasya dhātāro vidadhuḥ purā | tad evānucariṣyāmi kiṁ me mṛtyuḥ kariṣyati ||
Bhīṣma disse: “Seja qual for a ordenança que os ordenadores do cosmos estabeleceram para mim no alvorecer da minha vida, foi isso — e só isso — que segui desde o nascimento, e é isso que continuarei a seguir. Que pode, então, a Morte fazer contra mim?”
