पृथिवी ज्योतिराकाशमापो वायुश्च॒ पठचम: । एतद्योनीनि भूतानि तत्र का परिदेवना

Transliteration

śakra uvāca | pṛthivī jyotir ākāśam āpo vāyuś ca pañcamaḥ | etad-yonīni bhūtāni tatra kā paridevanā ||

Translation

Śakra disse: “Terra, fogo (luz), espaço, água e vento como o quinto—estes são os ventres (fontes materiais) de onde surgem os seres corporificados. Se todas as criaturas são constituídas desses elementos e a eles retornam, que motivo há para lamentação e pranto?”
