Educational Q&A

Actions generate a binding relationship with consequences—pleasant or painful—and the speaker proposes to clarify the full range of what counts as action and how its results are understood in ethical and spiritual terms.

Prahlāda is speaking in a didactic setting within Śānti Parva, introducing an explanation about karma: how deeds relate to outcomes and what the comprehensive ‘domain of actions’ entails, urging the listener to pay attention.
