यथा55काशान्तरं प्राप्य चन्द्रमा भ्राजते पुन: । तद्वल्लिड्डान्तरं प्राप्प शरीरी भ्राजते पुन:
yathākāśāntaraṁ prāpya candramā bhrājate punaḥ | tadvallīḍḍhāntaraṁ prāpya śarīrī bhrājate punaḥ ||
Diz Bhīṣma: Assim como a lua, ao alcançar outra região do céu, volta a resplandecer, assim também o ser encarnado—tendo assumido outro corpo—manifesta-se novamente. A imagem ensina a continuidade do jīva através das mudanças de encarnação, fundamentando a responsabilidade ética para além de uma única vida.
