जनक-राज्ञः मौण्ड्य-परिव्रज्या-विवादः
Janaka’s Renunciation Questioned; Discourse on Dāna and Detachment
प्रजानां पालने युक्ता दानमुत्तममास्थिता: । इष्टॉल्लोकानवाप्स्यामो गुरुवृद्धोपचायिन:
prajānāṁ pālane yuktā dānam uttamam āsthitāḥ | iṣṭān lokān avāpsyāmo guru-vṛddhopacāyinaḥ ||
Arjuna disse: “Se permanecermos devotados à proteção do povo, tomarmos refúgio na mais alta caridade e continuarmos a honrar e servir nossos mestres e anciãos, então alcançaremos os mundos que desejamos.”
अजुन उवाच
Righteous governance (protecting the people), excellence in charity, and reverent service to teachers and elders are presented as key dharmic duties that generate merit and lead to the attainment of desired spiritual or heavenly realms.
Arjuna speaks in a reflective, ethical register, affirming that if they commit themselves to public welfare, uphold superior charitable conduct, and continue respectful service to gurus and elders, they will secure the auspicious results they seek.
