Adhyāya 179 — Bharadvāja’s Reductionist Inquiry into Jīva and Pañcabhūta Dissolution

इषुकारो नर: कश्चिदिषावासक्तमानस: । समीपेनापि गच्छन्तं राजानं नावबुद्धवान्‌

iṣukāro naraḥ kaścid iṣāv āsaktamānasaḥ | samīpenāpi gacchantaṃ rājānaṃ nāvabuddhavān |

Bhīṣma disse: “Houve certa vez um fabricante de flechas, um homem cuja mente estava inteiramente absorvida em suas flechas. Mesmo quando o rei passou bem perto, ele não o percebeu.” O episódio é citado para ilustrar o poder da concentração de um só ponto (ekāgratā): quando a mente está plenamente recolhida na tarefa, as distrações externas perdem sua força — e assim tal homem se torna um “mestre” pelo exemplo.
