Vaiśampāyana uvāca: kathāntaram athāsādya khaḍga-yuddha-viśāradaḥ | Nakulaḥ śara-talpa-stham idam āha pitāmaham ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Ó Janamejaya, quando o episódio anterior se concluiu e surgiu uma ocasião, Nakula—muito versado no combate de espada—dirigiu-se ao avô Bhishma, que jazia sobre o leito de flechas, e perguntou-lhe assim.”
