भीष्म उवाच अत्र ते वर्तयिष्यामि नीतिमापत्सु भारत । उत्सृज्यापि घृणां काले यथा वर्तेत भूमिप:
bhīṣma uvāca | atra te vartayiṣyāmi nītim āpatsu bhārata | utsṛjyāpi ghṛṇāṃ kāle yathā varteta bhūmipaḥ ||
Bhishma disse: “Aqui te explicarei, ó Bhārata, a política a ser seguida em tempos de calamidade—como um rei, quando o momento o exige, deve agir com decisão oportuna, ainda que isso signifique pôr de lado a compaixão.”
