Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti (दस्युमर्यादा तथा बुद्धिप्रधान-राजनीति)
ददर्श त॑ पक्षिसुतं बाल्यादागत्य बालक: । ततो बाल्याच्च यत्नेन तेनाक्रीडत पक्षिणा,राजकुमार उस फलको खा-खाकर बड़ा हृष्ट-पुष्ट हो गया। एक दिन धाय उस राजपुत्रको गोदमें लिये घूम रही थी। वह बालक ही तो ठहरा, बाल-स्वभाववश आकर उसने उस चिड़ियाके बच्चेकों देखा और उसके साथ यत्नपूर्वक वह खेलने लगा
dadārśa taṁ pakṣi-sutaṁ bālyād āgatya bālakaḥ | tato bālyāc ca yatnena tenākrīḍata pakṣiṇā ||
Disse Bhishma: O menino pequeno, avançando com a curiosidade própria da infância, viu o filhote de pássaro. Então, movido pelos impulsos infantis, começou a brincar com a ave, esforçando-se com empenho para envolvê-la. A cena mostra como a brincadeira inocente, quando unida ao cuidado e à contenção, se torna uma prova do senso de responsabilidade que desperta diante dos seres vulneráveis.
भीष्म उवाच
