माजरि व्रीडितो भूत्वा मूषिकं वाक्यमब्रवीत्,पलितने जब इस प्रकार स्पष्टरूपसे कड़ी फटकार सुनायी, तब बिलावने लज्जित होकर पुनः उस चूहेसे इस प्रकार कहा
Mārjāri vrīḍito bhūtvā mūṣikaṁ vākyam abravīt.
Disse Bhishma: Quando o gato foi repreendido aberta e severamente, envergonhou-se; e, recuperando a compostura, voltou a falar ao rato. O episódio mostra que o malfeito, quando exposto por uma admoestação clara, pode forçar até um culpado astuto a ostentar humildade exterior — mas quem ouve ainda deve julgar com cuidado as intenções.
