Gautama–Yama Saṃvāda: Mātṛ-Pitṛ-Ṛṇa (Debt to Parents) and Śubha-Loka Attainment
भवत् तपोविघधातो वा यदि स्याद् विरमे ततः । यदि वास्ति कथायोगो योडयं प्रश्नो मयेरित:
bhavat tapovighadhāto vā yadi syād virame tataḥ | yadi vāsti kathāyogo yo 'yaṃ praśno mayeritaḥ |
Bhīṣma disse: “Se minhas perguntas puderem perturbar as vossas austeridades (tapas), desistirei de imediato. Mas, se tendes tempo para a conversa, por favor resolvei a questão que levantei. Desejo ouvir com clareza a causa da esperança e a medida verdadeira da capacidade de alguém. Já que estais sempre devotados ao tapas, reuni-vos e deliberai sobre este assunto.”
