When the mind is purified and one resolves to pursue worldly gain under the guidance of dharma, the three aims of life—dharma, artha, and kāma—can arise together in a mutually supportive way, especially when action is aligned with proper time and appropriate conditions.
In the Shanti Parva instruction, Bhishma continues advising King Yudhishthira on righteous living and governance, explaining how ethical intention and timely, well-grounded action allow prosperity and legitimate enjoyment to accompany dharma rather than conflict with it.
