Ānṛśaṃsya, Amātya-Guṇa, and Reconciliatory Counsel (आनृशंस्य–अमात्यगुण–संधि-उपदेशः)

आनृशंस्येन धर्मेण लोके हास्मिन्‌ जिजीविषु: । नाहमेतदल कर्तु नैतत्‌ त्वय्युपपद्यते,मैं दया-धर्मका आश्रय लेकर ही इस जगत्‌में जीना चाहता हूँ। मुझसे यह अधर्माचरण कदापि नहीं हो सकता, और ऐसा उपदेश देना आपको भी शोभा नहीं देता

bhīṣma uvāca |

ānṛśaṁsyena dharmeṇa loke hāsmin jijīviṣuḥ |

na aham etad alaṁ kartuṁ na etat tvayy upapadyate ||

Bhīṣma disse: “Desejando viver neste mundo amparado pelo dharma da compaixão e da não crueldade, não posso de modo algum cometer tal conduta injusta. E tampouco te convém dar conselho desse tipo.”
