उपायधर्म-सेनायोगः
Upāya-dharma and Senāyoga: Expedient Ethics & Army Deployment
अग्रतः पुरुषानीकं शक्तं चापि कुलोद्धवम् | आवासस्तोयवान् दुर्ग: पर्याकाश: प्रशस्यते
agratāḥ puruṣānīkaṃ śaktaṃ cāpi kulodbhavam | āvāsa-stoya-vān durgaḥ paryākāśaḥ praśasyate ||
Diz Bhīṣma: Deve-se colocar na linha mais avançada um corpo de infantaria que seja forte e de nobre linhagem. E, para proteção contra o inimigo, são louvados os alojamentos ou a fortaleza das tropas quando são de difícil acesso, cercados por fossos cheios d’água e por uma alta muralha, e quando há espaço aberto ao redor—para que a defesa e a vigilância se mantenham sem impedimento.
