स्मरिष्यत्यशुभं कर्म यत्तच्छकुनिबुद्धिजम् । “आज राजा धुृतराष्ट्र अपने इस पुत्रको मारा गया सुनकर अपने उन अशुभ कर्मोंको याद करेंगे, जिन्हें उन्होंने शकुनिकी सलाहके अनुसार किया था”
smariṣyaty aśubhaṃ karma yat tacchakunibuddhijam |
Sañjaya disse: Dhṛtarāṣṭra recordará os feitos infaustos—nascidos do conselho de Śakuni—quando ouvir que esse seu filho foi morto. O verso ressalta como escolhas antiéticas, abraçadas por vantagem, retornam como amarga lembrança na hora da perda.
संजय उवाच
Unrighteous actions, especially those undertaken under manipulative counsel, do not vanish; they mature into consequences and remorse. In moments of tragedy, one is forced to confront the moral origins of one’s choices.
Sañjaya foretells Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s reaction upon hearing that his son has been killed: the king will remember the earlier wrongful decisions he made under Śakuni’s influence, recognizing their role in the unfolding catastrophe.
