Vṛddha-kanyā-carita and Balarāma’s Kurukṣetra Inquiry (वृद्धकन्या-चरितम् / कुरुक्षेत्रफल-प्रश्नः)

तस्यां द्वादशवार्षिक्यामनावृष्ट्यां महर्षय:

tasyāṁ dvādaśavārṣikyām anāvṛṣṭyāṁ maharṣayaḥ

Disse Vaiśampāyana: Durante aquele período de doze anos de seca, os grandes sábios (maharṣis) foram afligidos juntamente com o mundo—um episódio que apresenta o sofrimento como prova coletiva e realça a urgência moral de sustentar o dharma quando a natureza retira seu amparo.
