Saptasārasvata-tīrtha-prasaṅgaḥ | The Saptasārasvata Pilgrimage Account and the Maṅkaṇaka Narrative
ऋषयो बहवो राजंस्तत् सत्रमभिपेदिरे | वैशम्पायनजीने कहा--राजन्! पूर्वकालके सत्ययुगकी बात है वहाँ बारह वर्षोमें पूर्ण होनेवाले एक महान् यज्ञका अनुष्ठान आरम्भ किया गया था। उस सत्रमें नैमिषारण्यनिवासी तपस्वी मुनि तथा अन्य बहुतसे ऋषि पधारे थे
ṛṣayo bahavo rājan tat satram abhipedire |
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Ó rei, muitos sábios vieram e se reuniram para aquela sessão sacrificial (satra).” A frase enquadra uma cena de empreendimento religioso coletivo e disciplinado, em que ascetas eruditos se congregam para sustentar a ordem sagrada por meio de um rito longo e regulado.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic continuity through communal Vedic practice: sages gather for a regulated, long-form sacrifice, emphasizing discipline, shared responsibility, and preservation of sacred tradition.
Vaiśampāyana addresses the king and reports that many ṛṣis arrived to participate in a satra—setting the stage for a larger account connected with a major sacrificial gathering.
