ततो गान्धारकैर्गुप्तं पुष्ठैरश्वैर्जये धृतम्
tato gāndhārakair guptaṃ pṛṣṭhair aśvair jaye dhṛtam
Disse Sañjaya: Então, protegido pelos guerreiros de Gandhāra, ele foi levado adiante, no ímpeto da vitória, por velozes cavalos desde a retaguarda—resguardado enquanto a maré da batalha virava, lembrando que, na guerra, até os poderosos dependem de guardiões leais e de apoio disciplinado.
