भीमसेनस्य कौरवसुतवधः तथा श्रुतर्वावधः

तानपास्य गता: केचित् पुनरेव युयुत्सव:
tān apāsya gatāḥ kecit punar eva yuyutsavaḥ
Sañjaya disse: “Deixando-os de lado, alguns recuaram; mas outros, ainda ávidos de lutar, voltaram novamente. A linha ressalta a oscilação da determinação na guerra—uns abandonam o campo quando são dominados, enquanto outros, movidos por dever, orgulho ou desespero, reentram na contenda.”
