तानापतत एवाशु पूरयाणान् रथस्वनै: । दिशश्व विदिशश्वैव कम्पयानांश्ष मेदिनीम्
tān āpatata evāśu pūrayāṇān rathasvanaiḥ | diśaś ca vidiśaś caiva kampayānāṃś ca medinīm ||
Disse Sañjaya: Eles investiram de uma vez; e, ao avançarem, encheram as regiões e as direções intermediárias com o trovão de seus carros, fazendo a própria terra tremer. O verso ressalta o ímpeto avassalador da batalha, quando a força coletiva e o estrondo marcial anunciam a destruição iminente.
