Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report
The verse frames moral accountability as inseparable from action: claiming to know dharma is hollow if one passively tolerates injustice. Ethical failure can occur through omission (upekṣā) as much as through direct wrongdoing.
Sañjaya reports a harsh denunciation directed at Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna, accusing them of standing by while an unjust killing took place. The speaker predicts their future humiliation and suffering as a consequence of that neglect.
