क्रुद्धेन द्रोणपुत्रेण संछन्ना: प्रापतन् भुवि । यक्षों तथा राक्षसोंसे भरे हुए एवं रथों, घोड़ों और हाथियोंसे भयंकर दिखायी देनेवाले रणक्षेत्रमें कुपित हुए द्रोणपुत्रके हाथोंसे कटकर कितने ही क्षत्रिय पृथ्वीपर पड़े थे || १२० $ई || भ्रातृनन्ये पितृनन्ये पुत्रानन्ये विचुक्रुशु:
sañjaya uvāca | kruddhena droṇaputreṇa saṃchannāḥ prāpatan bhuvi | bhrātṝn anye pitṝn anye putrān anye vicukruśuḥ ||
Disse Sañjaya: Cobertos pela ira do filho de Droṇa, muitos tombaram sobre a terra. Uns clamavam por seus irmãos, outros por seus pais, e outros por seus filhos — vozes de parentesco e luto erguendo-se em meio ao morticínio.
