gotranāmabhir anyonyam ākrandanta tato janāḥ | hāhākāraṃ ca kurvāṇāḥ pṛthivyāṃ śerate pare ||
Disse Sañjaya: Então as pessoas chamavam umas às outras, invocando-se pelos nomes de clã e de família. Erguendo um lamento terrível de “Ai! Ai!”, outros jaziam espalhados pela terra—vencidos pelo terror e pela dor após o massacre da noite.
