Aśvatthāman’s Curse, Parikṣit’s Future, and the Mani’s Restitution
परिक्षिन्नाम नृपतिर्मिषतस्ते सुदुर्मते । दुर्मते! इसके बाद तेरे देखते-देखते महाबाहु कुरुराज परीक्षित् ही इस भूमण्डलका सम्राट् होगा
parikṣinnāma nṛpatir miṣatas te sudurmate | durmate! iṣke bāda tere dekhate-dekhate mahābāhu kururāja parīkṣit hi asya bhūmaṇḍalasya samrāṭ bhaviṣyati ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Surgirá um rei chamado Parīkṣit—enquanto tu, ó totalmente desatinado, assistirás impotente. Sim, diante de teus próprios olhos, esse príncipe Kuru de braços poderosos, Parīkṣit, tornar-se-á o soberano de toda esta terra.”
