वैशम्पायन उवाच एवं विलपतीं कुन्तीमभिवाद्य प्रणम्प च । पाण्डवा विगतानन्दा वनायैव प्रवव्रजु:
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: evaṁ vilapatīṁ Kuntīm abhivādya praṇamya ca | Pāṇḍavā vigatānandā vanāyaiva pravavrajuḥ ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Tendo saudado e se curvado diante de Kuntī, que assim lamentava, os Pāṇḍavas—privados de toda alegria—partiram sozinhos rumo à floresta.
