भीमसेन उवाच नृशंस परुषं॑ वक्तुं शक््यं दुःशासन त्वया । निकृत्या हि धनं लब्ध्वा को विकत्थितुमहति,भीमसेन बोले--ओ नृशंस दुःशासन! तेरे ही मुखसे ऐसी कठोर बातें निकल सकती हैं, तेरे सिवा दूसरा कौन है, जो छल-कपटसे धन पाकर इस तरह आप ही अपनी प्रशंसा करेगा
bhīmasena uvāca
nṛśaṃsa paruṣaṃ vaktuṃ śakyaṃ duḥśāsana tvayā |
nikṛtyā hi dhanaṃ labdhvā ko vikatthitum arhati ||
Bhīmasena disse: “Ó Duḥśāsana, cruel e impiedoso, só tu és capaz de proferir palavras tão duras e desumanas. Tendo obtido riquezas por engano, quem poderia, com justiça, vangloriar-se e louvar a si mesmo desse modo?”
भीमसेन उवाच
Speech and self-praise are ethically judged by the means behind one’s success: wealth gained through deceit makes boasting improper, and harsh speech reveals moral cruelty.
In the Sabha assembly context, Bhīma confronts Duḥśāsana, condemning his cruel, abrasive words and pointing out that his confidence rests on wealth acquired through trickery rather than rightful merit.
