Renewed Summons to the Dice-Game and Exile Wager

Moral awareness without action is insufficient: the assembly largely recognizes the wrong done to Draupadī and feels grief, yet the failure to intervene shows how adharma can prevail when power, fear, or loyalty silence those who know what is right.
In the Kuru assembly, Draupadī (called Kṛṣṇā) is being dragged and publicly humiliated. Vaiśampāyana notes that most courtiers are deeply distressed at the sight, with certain key figures excluded from this sympathetic reaction.
