Adhyāya 45 — Duryodhana’s Distress, Śakuni’s Counsel, and the Summons for Dyūta
Even after success and the attainment of power, one should act with dharma: honor elders, acknowledge fulfilled aims without arrogance, and seek permission before departing—showing that duty and relationships guide decisions, not mere victory or wealth.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa is told he must go to Dvārakā. Kṛṣṇa, accompanied by Yudhiṣṭhira, visits Kuntī, informs her that her sons have gained sovereignty and prosperity, urges her to live happily with them, and asks her leave to depart for Dvārakā.
