Maya’s Construction of the Assembly Hall
The verse highlights the intoxicating power of grandeur: extraordinary achievement and beauty can inspire awe, but in a royal setting such magnificence can also feed pride and rivalry, becoming a subtle test of restraint and dharma.
Vaiśampāyana is describing the unparalleled splendor of the assembly hall constructed by the master architect Maya, stating that even the famed Sudharmā of the Yādavas and Brahmā’s hall do not match it—setting the stage for later court events and tensions.
