घातयित्वा जरासंध॑ बुद्धिपूर्वमरिंदम: । धर्मराजमनुज्ञाप्य पृथां कृष्णां च भारत,भारत! जरासंधको बुद्धिपूर्वक मरवाकर शत्रुदमन श्रीकृष्ण धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर, कुन्ती तथा द्रौपदीसे आज्ञा ले, सुभद्रा, भीमसेन, अर्जुन, नकुल, सहदेव तथा धौम्यजीसे भी पूछकर धर्मराजके दिये हुए उसी मनके समान वेगशाली दिव्य एवं उत्तम रथके द्वारा सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंको गुँजाते हुए अपनी द्वारकापुरीको चले गये
vaiśampāyana uvāca | ghātayitvā jarāsandhaṃ buddhipūrvam ariṃdamaḥ | dharmarājam anu jñāpya pṛthāṃ kṛṣṇāṃ ca bhārata ||
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Ó Bhārata, após ter feito Jarāsandha ser morto por estratégia deliberada, Kṛṣṇa — o subjugador de inimigos — buscou o consentimento do rei Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira), bem como de Pṛthā (Kuntī) e Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī). Com a aprovação deles, preparou-se para partir.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when a difficult enemy is removed through clever strategy, ethical conduct requires deference to rightful authority and family elders—seeking consent and maintaining propriety after victory.
After Jarāsandha has been brought to death through a planned approach, Kṛṣṇa formally asks and receives permission from Yudhiṣṭhira, Kuntī, and Draupadī before proceeding with his next step (departure in the broader episode).
