Vasudeva–Arjuna Dialogue in the Aftermath of Dvārakā

श्वोभूतेडथ तत: शौरियव॑सुदेव: प्रतापवान्‌ । युक्त्वा55त्मानं महातेजा जगाम गतिमुत्तमाम्‌,सबेरा होते ही महातेजस्वी शूरनन्दन प्रतापी वसुदेवजीने अपने चित्तको परमात्मामें लगाकर योगके द्वारा उत्तम गति प्राप्त की

śvobhūte ’tha tataḥ śaurir vasudevaḥ pratāpavān | yuktvātmānaṃ mahātejā jagāma gatim uttamām ||

Quando chegou a manhã seguinte, o valente Vasudeva—filho de Śūra, homem de grande esplendor—recolheu a mente no Yoga, fixando-a no Ser Supremo, e por essa união disciplinada alcançou o estado mais elevado.

Educational Q&A

The verse presents Yoga as the culminating dharmic practice: by gathering the mind and fixing it on the Supreme Self, one attains the highest gati (supreme spiritual end). It models an ideal death—composed, inwardly unified, and oriented to the परमात्मा.

In the aftermath of the Yādava destruction (Mausala Parva context), the narrator states that on the following morning Vasudeva, described as mighty and radiant, entered deep yogic concentration and departed, attaining the supreme destination.
