दृष्टं मयेदं निधन यदूनां राज्ञां च पूर्व कुरुपुड्रवानाम् नाहं विना यदुभियदवानां पुरीमिमामशकं द्रष्टमद्य,“मैंने इस समय यह यदुवंशियोंका विनाश देखा है और पूर्वकालमें कुरुकुलके श्रेष्ठ राजाओंका भी संहार देख चुका हूँ। अब मैं उन यादव वीरोंके बिना उनकी इस पुरीको देखनेमें भी असमर्थ हूँ
dṛṣṭaṃ mayedaṃ nidhanaṃ yadūnāṃ rājñāṃ ca pūrvaṃ kurupuṇḍravānām | nāhaṃ vinā yadubhiryādavānāṃ purīm imām aśakaṃ draṣṭum adya ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: “Agora testemunhei a destruição dos Yadus, e outrora também vi o massacre dos mais ilustres reis dos Kurus e dos Puṇḍras. Hoje, sem aqueles heróis Yādavas, sinto-me incapaz até de contemplar esta cidade deles.”
