अथापश्यद् योगयुक्तस्य तस्य नागं मुखान्निश्चरन्तं महान्तम् | श्वेतं ययौ स ततः: प्रेक्ष्यमाणो महार्णवो येन महानुभाव:,बलरामजी योगयुक्त हो समाधि लगाये बैठे थे। श्रीकृष्णने उनके मुखसे एक श्वेत वर्णके विशालकाय सर्पको निकलते देखा। उनसे देखा जाता हुआ वह महानुभाव नाग जिस ओर महासागर था उसी मार्गपर चल दिया
athāpaśyad yogayuktasya tasya nāgaṃ mukhān niścarantaṃ mahāntam | śvetaṃ yayau sa tataḥ prekṣyamāṇo mahārṇavo yena mahānubhāvaḥ ||
Disse Vaiśaṃpāyana: Então ele viu, sair da boca daquele que estava absorto no yoga, uma serpente Nāga poderosa. Branca em sua cor, esse Nāga de grande alma—enquanto era observado—afastou-se pelo mesmo caminho que conduzia ao grande oceano. A cena assinala a partida ióguica de Balarāma: o sopro vital e a presença encarnada são relinquidos sem agitação, e o ser retorna à sua fonte cósmica, realçando o ideal do autodomínio no fim da vida.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights yogic mastery at the end of life: a perfected being departs consciously and calmly, suggesting that disciplined inner absorption (yoga) culminates in a dignified, non-deluded transition and a return to one’s cosmic origin.
Balarāma, seated in yogic absorption, is seen to release a great white serpent from his mouth; that serpent-being proceeds toward the great ocean. The episode signals Balarāma’s divine-yogic exit from the world, witnessed by others (notably Kṛṣṇa in the received narration).
