Listen to the sacred narrative with a mind free from envy and fault-finding; such receptive, non-malicious śravaṇa is presented as a dharmic discipline that yields well-being and wins divine approval.
Vaiśampāyana delivers a phalaśruti-style statement, declaring the fruits of hearing the text: the listener gains happiness, and the major deities—Viṣṇu, Brahmā, and Śiva—are pleased with that exemplary person.
