संजय कहते हैं--राजन्! जब कर्ण मारा गया और शत्रुसेना भाग चली, तब दशाहईनन्दन भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण अर्जुनको हृदयसे लगाकर बड़े हर्षके साथ इस प्रकार बोले --
sañjaya uvāca—rājan! yadā karṇo hataḥ śatrusenā ca palāyitā, tadā daśārhanandano bhagavān śrīkṛṣṇo ’rjunaṃ hṛdayena pariṣvajya mahāharṣeṇaivam uvāca—
Sañjaya disse: Ó Rei, quando Karṇa foi morto e o exército inimigo se rompeu e fugiu, o Bem-aventurado Senhor Śrī Kṛṣṇa—deleite dos Daśārhas—abraçou Arjuna junto ao coração e, tomado de grande júbilo, falou-lhe nestas palavras—.
