अवध्यकल्पा निहता नरेन्द्रा- स्तवार्थकामा युधि पाण्डवेयै: । तनन््मा शुचो भारत दिष्टमेतत् पर्याश्वस त्वं न सदास्ति सिद्धि:
sañjaya uvāca |
avadhyakalpā nihatā narendrās tavārthakāmā yudhi pāṇḍaveyaiḥ |
tan mā śuco bhārata diṣṭam etat paryāśvasa tvaṃ na sadāsti siddhiḥ ||
Sanjaya disse: Aqueles reis que pareciam como se não pudessem ser mortos, e que lutavam buscando a realização de seus próprios intentos, foram abatidos em batalha pelos filhos de Pandu. Portanto, ó Bharata, não te aflijas. Isto foi ordenado pelo destino; toma alento, pois o êxito não vem a todos em todos os tempos.
