ननु त्वाहुर्वेदितारं महास्त्रं ब्राह्मं विधेयं परमं जनास्तत्
nanu tvāhur veditāraṁ mahāstraṁ brāhmaṁ vidheyaṁ paramaṁ janās tat
Disse Sañjaya: “Certamente as pessoas afirmam que a arma suprema de Brahmā—o grande projétil celeste—só deve ser empregada por quem a conhece de verdade.” O verso ressalta uma contenção moral na guerra: o direito de manejar o poder mais alto e mais destrutivo é inseparável do conhecimento disciplinado e de uma intenção responsável, não de mera posse ou ambição.
