प्रायात् ततः सत्वरमुग्रवेगो यतो भीमस्तद् बल॑ गन्तुमैच्छत् । ततो<परे नागरथाश्रपत्तिभि: प्रत्युद्ययुस्तं कुरव: समन्तात्
sañjaya uvāca |
prāyāt tataḥ satvaram ugravego yato bhīmas tad balaṃ gantum aicchat |
tato 'pare nāga-rathāśva-pattibhiḥ pratyudyayus taṃ kuravaḥ samantāt ||
Sañjaya disse: Então o seu cocheiro avançou de imediato com velocidade terrível, dirigindo-se à força que Bhīma desejava alcançar. Em seguida, os outros Kurus, trazendo à frente elefantes, carros, cavalos e infantaria, irromperam de todos os lados para contra-atacá-lo. A cena realça a feroz determinação de Bhīma de enviar os filhos de Dhṛtarāṣṭra ao reino de Yama, e o esforço coletivo dos Kurus para resisti-lo em meio à ética crescente do dever no campo de batalha e da vingança.
