tasya sarvasya duṣṭātmā karṇo vai mūlam ity uta |
Disse Sañjaya: “De todas essas maldades, Karna —de intento perverso— foi, de fato, a causa raiz.” À luz do dharma, o verso atribui a Karna a responsabilidade moral principal por uma cadeia de conspirações, retratando-o não como mero cúmplice, mas como a fonte motriz de atos que violaram o dever justo e visaram os inocentes.
