अद्य त्वामनुपश्यामि कर्ण हत्वा महीपते | सभाजयितुमाक्रन्दादिति सत्यं ब्रवीमि ते,भूपाल! आज मैं कर्णको मारकर ही आपका दर्शन करूँगा और युद्धस्थलसे आपका अभिनन्दन करनेके लिये आऊँगा। यह मैं आपसे सत्य कहता हूँ
adya tvām anupaśyāmi karṇa hatvā mahīpate | sabhājayitum ākrandād iti satyaṁ bravīmi te ||
Disse Arjuna: “Ó rei, hoje só me apresentarei diante de ti depois de ter abatido Karṇa. Então, do tumulto do campo de batalha, aproximar-me-ei para prestar-te homenagem. Isto te digo em verdade.”
