ये चास्त्रज्ञास्तानहं हन्मि चास्त्रै- स्तस्माल्लोकान्नेह करोमि भस्मसात् | जैत्रं रथं भीममास्थाय कृष्ण याव: शीघ्र सूतपुत्र॑ निहन्तुम्,“जो अस्त्रविद्याके ज्ञाता हैं, उन्हींको मैं अस्त्रोंद्वारा मारता हूँ; इसीलिये मैं यहाँ सम्पूर्ण लोकोंको भस्म नहीं करता हूँ। श्रीकृष्ण! अब हम दोनों विजयशाली एवं भयंकर रथपर बैठकर सूतपुत्रका वध करनेके लिये शीघ्र ही चल दें
ye cāstrajñās tān ahaṁ hanmi cāstrais tasmāl lokān neha karomi bhasmasāt | jaitraṁ rathaṁ bhīmam āsthāya kṛṣṇa yāvaḥ śīghraṁ sūtaputraṁ nihantum ||
Sañjaya disse: “Aqueles que realmente conhecem a ciência das armas—são esses que eu atinjo e abato com armas; por isso não reduzo aqui todos os mundos a cinzas. Ó Kṛṣṇa, partamos depressa nós dois, montando o carro vitorioso e terrível, para matar o filho do cocheiro.”

The verse highlights restraint and proportionality in the use of power: even when one possesses overwhelming destructive capacity, ethical conduct lies in directing force toward legitimate combatants (weapon-experts) rather than annihilating indiscriminately.
In Sañjaya’s report, a warrior declares that he targets only trained fighters with weapons and does not burn the whole world to ashes; then he urges Kṛṣṇa to quickly mount a victorious, fearsome chariot and proceed to kill Sūtaputra—Karna.
