Cosmic Spectatorship and Vows
गच्छन्नेव तु कौन्तेयो धर्मराजदिदृक्षया । सैन्यमालोकयामास नापश्यत् तत्र चाग्रजम्
gacchann eva tu kaunteyo dharmarāja-didṛkṣayā | sainyam ālokayāmāsa nāpaśyat tatra cāgrajam, bhārata ||
Sañjaya disse: Enquanto o filho de Kuntī partia, desejoso de ver Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira), lançou o olhar sobre todo o exército; mas ali, ó Bhārata, não viu seu irmão mais velho.
संजय उवाच
Even amid warfare’s chaos, dharma expresses itself as steadfast responsibility toward rightful leadership and family duty: Arjuna’s first impulse after action is to seek the welfare and presence of Dharmarāja, the moral center of the Pāṇḍavas.
Sañjaya reports that Arjuna, while moving on with the intention of meeting Yudhiṣṭhira, scans the assembled forces but cannot find his elder brother there—setting up concern about Yudhiṣṭhira’s location or condition in the ongoing battle.
