tathaiva tau pratyavidhyat sūtaputraḥ pratāpavān | bhallābhyāṃ śitadhārābhyāṃ mahātmānāvarindamau ||
Sañjaya disse: Do mesmo modo, o valente filho do cocheiro revidou e traspassou aqueles dois guerreiros de grande alma, subjugadores de inimigos, com um par de flechas bhalla de lâmina afiada. Essa troca reflete a reciprocidade implacável da batalha—proeza respondendo a proeza—em que a perícia marcial, mais do que a deliberação moral, conduz o curso imediato dos acontecimentos.
