सात्यकिस्तु ततः क्रुद्धो द्रौणे: प्रहरतो रणे
sātyakis tu tataḥ kruddho drauṇeḥ praharato raṇe
Disse Sañjaya: Então Sātyaki, tomado de ira, enfrentou Drauṇi (o filho de Droṇa) no combate, enquanto este abatia guerreiros—sua cólera crescia diante da violência implacável do campo de batalha.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how anger arises in response to perceived wrongdoing in war, reminding readers that even righteous warriors must contend with inner passions; the ethical tension lies in acting within kṣatriya-duty while not being consumed by wrath.
Sañjaya reports that Sātyaki becomes enraged and turns toward Drauṇi (Aśvatthāman) on the battlefield as Drauṇi is actively striking in combat, setting up a direct confrontation.
