कृष्णोपदेशः, अर्जुनस्य क्षमा-याचनम्, कर्णवध-अनुज्ञा
Krishna’s Counsel, Arjuna’s Apology, and Authorization for Karṇa’s Slaying
ते तु राज्ञा समादिष्टा भीमसेनं जिघांसव: । अभ्यवर्तन्त संक्रुद्धा: पतज्रा: पावकं यथा
te tu rājñā samādiṣṭā bhīmasenaṃ jighāṃsavaḥ | abhyavartanta saṃkruddhāḥ pataṅgāḥ pāvakaṃ yathā ||
Sañjaya disse: Mas aqueles guerreiros, por ordem do rei e decididos a matar Bhīmasena, avançaram em fúria — como mariposas que se atiram a uma chama ardente. O verso ressalta como a obediência cega e a ira podem levar os homens a uma violência autodestrutiva no campo de batalha.
