अभ्यद्रवन्त समरे भीम॑ भीमपराक्रमम् । प्रभो! उस शूरवीरकों मारा गया देख उसके भाई समरभूमिमें भयंकर पराक्रमी भीमसेनपर सब ओरसे टूट पड़े
abhyadravanta samare bhīmaṁ bhīmaparākramam | prabho! taṁ śūravīraṁ hataṁ dṛṣṭvā tasya bhrātaraḥ samarabhūmau bhayaṅkara-parākramiṇaṁ bhīmasenam sarvataḥ samantāt pratyapatanta |
Sañjaya disse: «No auge da batalha, investiram contra Bhīma — Bhīma de terrível valentia. Ó senhor, ao verem aquele guerreiro heroico abatido, seus irmãos, inflamados pela dor e pelo dever, irromperam de todos os lados do campo de batalha contra Bhīmasena, cuja força era aterradora.»
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the kṣatriya impulse of responding to a comrade’s death with collective retaliation—showing how grief and duty can intensify violence, and how valor in war often escalates cycles of retribution.
After a heroic warrior is seen slain, his brothers rush from all directions to attack Bhīmasena in the battle, recognizing him as a terrifyingly powerful opponent.
