Chapter 45
संजय उवाच इत्युक्तो धर्मराजेन तथेत्युक्त्वा धनंजय: । व्यादिदेश स्वसैन्यानि स्वयं चागाच्चमूमुखम्
sañjaya uvāca ity ukto dharmarājena tathety uktvā dhanañjayaḥ | vyādideśa svasainyāni svayaṃ cāgāc camūmukham ||
Sañjaya disse: Assim interpelado por Dharmarāja, Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) respondeu: “Assim seja.” Em seguida, deu ordens às suas tropas para se prepararem para a batalha, e ele próprio avançou até a linha de frente do exército—acolhendo a determinação do rei como dever e entrando com firmeza no campo da ação.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined assent to rightful command and swift execution of duty: Arjuna accepts Yudhiṣṭhira’s instruction without hesitation and acts responsibly as a leader, placing himself at the forefront rather than remaining behind.
After being addressed by Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira), Arjuna responds “tathā” (“so be it”), orders his own forces to prepare/advance for battle, and personally moves to the army’s front line.
