Adhyāya 41 — Kṛṣṇa’s Battlefield Briefing and the Renewal of the Great Engagement

The verse underscores the moral and existential cost of war: even the greatest kṣatriya heroes are not spared; a truly ‘all-seizing’ conflict consumes glory, life, and certainty, testing the very ideals of warrior duty.
Sañjaya addresses Śalya, characterizing the ongoing battle as an overpowering, terrifying melee that draws warriors in and will inevitably afflict the leading champions among the Bharata kṣatriyas.
