वरान्‌ प्रादाद्‌ बहुविधान्‌ भार्गवाय महात्मने । उक्तश्न देवदेवेन प्रीतियुक्तेन शूलिना,उन देवाधिदेव त्रिशूलधारी भगवान्‌ शिवने बड़ी प्रसन्नताके साथ महात्मा भार्गवको नाना प्रकारके वर प्रदान किये

varān prādād bahuvidhān bhārgavāya mahātmane | uktaś ca devadevena prītiyuktena śūlinā ||

Mahādeva, Senhor dos deuses, satisfeito e afetuoso, concedeu ao magnânimo Bhārgava muitos e variados dons. O episódio ressalta que o favor divino é retratado como resposta à devoção e ao merecimento, e que o poder deve ser conferido com discernimento, não exigido por orgulho.
